Departing from Port St Johns you are shuttled through stunning countryside to Noqhekwana Village. From the top of a mountain overlooking the ocean you view Port St Johns in the distance and often whales and dolphins too. Here you will meet your guide who will take you into this authentic Pondo Village explaining the daily activities of the villagers as you pass them by.
First stop is at a Sangoma, a herbalists and a Traditional Healer who is used by the majority of the locals for day to day healthcare. Here you can take the opportunity to talk face to face with “your ancestors”.
Walking through the Village to the shebeen, a tavern, you come across many animals including pigs, geese, donkeys and goats. Here you have the opportunity to talk to the local people over a coldrink or beer, or try some of their home made beer made from maize.
From the shebeen we head off for lunch at one of the homesteads, where a traditional meal will be served, after which young girls will perform traditional dances and crafters will display their work
.After a great day in the village you will be shuttled back to your place of stay.!!!
